Your mod is a big improvement Wayne.
The hair is best dealt with by cropping, though you could either clone some in, or select a section of hair thats growing in the same direction, and copy/paste it into the bright section ans clone out any extra hair you may have.
The crop is the best approach as it gives you a much better composition by placing her eyes higher, on a third.
