Step across the water to Ireland.

helenlinda

Welcome to my portfolio.

I joined this site in June 2007 and have gained so much from being here - advice, challenge and a supportive community when moving out of my comfort zone and stretching my skills.
I take most of my pictures in my locality in South Birmingham, and I digitally manipulate many of them - adding textures and combining images.
I see images in the most ordinary of places and love the effects of shadows, reflections and the weather. I hope you enjoy looking at some of my images, and that in so doing you begin to notice things that you hadn't seen before in the world around you Smile

Thanks for looking Smile

Step across the water to Ireland.

I was talking to the Nursery children today about Ireland. They have been thinking about the countries in UK as part of our One World Week. I was holding a map up and explaining that the blue was water and the green was land.
We then considered how we could get across the water into Ireland. Yes we could go on a boat or in an airoplane. Then Indiana said "You could step across". How delightful was that!. No idea at all of the scale. She was right..........if you lay the map on the floor its just a step away!!
We also had some colouring to do of the wee little man looking for the crock of gold at the end of the rainbow.
Do you really think there is gold in that pot I asked ................oh yes!!! was the answer. So there you go. And if you are off to Ireland( which is just a step away!!) you now have it on the highest authority that there is gold there.......at the end of the rainbow - so keep looking for the little man!!

If only life were that simple! I hope you managed to keep a straight face, I think I would be hard pressed to do so!

One should never grow up, I think. Love the way they think!
