A page out of Mum's book

By helenlinda
We have a cooking apple tree at the bottom of the garden. The apples do not store well though, even individually wrapped in the garage. So this year I am using Mum's recipe book and bottling quite a few of them - as we have very little space left in the freezer.
Many thanks to Sandy for generously giving me her User Award for Lamplight yesterday.
More plums to prepare and blackberries to jam this weekend - busy time for many of us, but what a wonderful blessing SmileSmile
Thanks for looking
Helen

How lucky you are to have the fruit to hand Helen - one of the things I greatly miss now. As ever a well thought out and composed image which tells a story.

Beautifully constructed image. With two fig trees, two pomegranate trees, one Loquat tree, two olive trees, one lemon, one lime and a cartload of strawberry and cape gooseberry plant plus the multitudes of chillies we grow every year in the Spanish garden, I am well into bottling too.

A lovely image Helen. Very appealing. I did make raspberry jam a month ago. Something my mom and I used to do each year. Brings back memories.

You have presented this so well, Helen, with the red ring around Fruit Bottling (just as well because I couldn't read the words top left), and the other items, leaving us in no doubt as to what the subject is. The black background sets it off nicely, especially the writing, though kept nicely subtle so as not to overpower the other items.

I have put up many jars of apples. They will make wonderful fresh apple sauce and fried apples this winter. Love your technique. These could be made into posters and sold.
