Between a [small] rock and a hard place

By helenlinda
Five in a row. I took several shots of children playing games with stones at a recent history day at school. I uploaded several a while back which I was not really happy with and so took them down. Moira [mrswoolbill] suggested that the left side of one would go with the right side of the other - and here it is, and I think it works better.
I've layered it with the texture from a tombstone to give a hard/rock like appearance - hence the title WinkWink

Many thanks to andylea and pluckyfilly for their User Awards for Weeding . Thanks also to mrswoolbill, bricurtis, Annettep38, and Niknut for their helpful comments. Also thanks to Mark Kent for his GEA

Back to work today - last half of term and "I retire next month" has a great feel about it SmileSmileSmile

Thanks Andy
He seems to be deliberating about whether to block her or plod on with one of two rows of his own - who won - well I think he is showing some good tactics but who knows.
This is a good idea for an image like it

Yes the two sides do work together, the hands balance. This now looks 'complete' to me. It's a picture that I would love to have taken, and that's my usual UA criterion.
Congratulations on imminent retirement. It will be the beginning of the rest of your life - we have never been busier, or happier! I'm sure you have a lot of projects to get involved in.
You could suggest to your school that you continue to document the children's activities occasionally - Bill's old school has had its bid for new a building accepted, and we are going to document the final year in the old building.

'Supply' beckons!!Tongue Have a great last half, Helen. Can't see the joins on this Tongue, beautifully compiled and layered. The hands have similar shapes and are well balanced in the image.
