Homework with Grandma

By helenlinda
Isn't it wonderful to have 1 to 1 time with grandchildren. Joy took Timmy to the park while I helped Samuel with his homework. He had to find three things growing in the garden, label them and draw them. He is just six and loves drawing and his observational skills are developing well. He planned the layout and drew a line for the bottom and top of each flower.
Then Grandma got to work showing him the shadows - well you can't start too early in my opinion.
The house seems very quiet now they have gone - just the hum of the washing machine.
Thanks for looking

This caught my eye...........Samuel shows some talent as an artist he has certainly captured the form of these flowers. I do like your splendid idea of photographing the real thing beside the sketches.

Can't tell the drawn ones from the real ones, Helen!
I wish I could draw as well as that - seriously, I am pathetic at art. I know I am, and my art teacher st school agreed with me.Blush

A delightful compilation or combined effort.
Your grandson's drawing plus your skilful artwork - an image to be framed for posterity I think.

I think that is excellent for a 6 year old. I'd recognize those flowers from his artwork. And look how well gramma captured the work.

It is good to start them young.....all children are artists at heart, some just never get to develop that.
