Mirror, mirror on the wall -3

By helenlinda
Another capture from the abandoned Nursery - this time they have been back to take more samples from the walls to analyse for evidence of asbestos. This panel was taken off the adjacent left wall, and the mirror has created some more wonderful abstract patterns.
Andrew suggested wondered if I had taken the mirror on its own - v3 is one that I took from a different angle and then straightened
For those of you who do not know, I ran this Nursery for 7 years and during that time Rachel did her final teaching practise. When I left she then ran it for several years, so we both have very strong feelings about it going - hence my many uploads of it.
Also I have been asked to document its fall and rise so that some photos of it can go into the new foyer when it is built.
Thanks to those of you who left clicks and comments on yesterday's upload. There are yet more random images to come from the empty building - not everyone's cup of tea, but their quirkiness appeals to me.
Enjoy your weekend
Helen

Much prefer v1 Helen. Hope you go in with standard white suit, hood, boots and mask!! Haha what a fab image I have of you now. Think your camera needs protective covering too Smile

V1 for me also, might be an idea to put a catchline around the photo to separate from the background, or change colour to separate it, have you taken one just of the mirror, it could be interesting.

v2 should be the better image with less clutter, cleaner lines and a more clear contrast between the items, but v1 has a much better balance between the elements. I did wonder about the connection between yourself and Rachel, thankyou.

I understand your feelings Helen.
I see many grotty, derelict buildings in Leith,
that I remember many years ago in happier times !!
Good to keep a record of events.

V2 for me. They are all strong images of objects that are not normally easily found. Sad story for you but nice to see artistic images coming out of the decay of your building. Sad

Awww...thanks so much for V3, Helen GrinGrinGrin

I have to say that that is one very interesting mirror. The abstracts coming from it are WONderful.

What happened to the mirror?

I loved reading about you running the school and then Rachel. Both of you are in my Favourites and I had no idea there was a connection!

Taken with love...
I can see interesting possibilities for more abstract square crops here, from the left side of V2 and the right side of V3.

I Particularly like V3 Helen as it is the most obvious abstract. But I also like the jagged 'teeth' produced by the broken panel in versions 1 and 2.

Must say Helen V3 works excellently as an abstract and now my favourite, by the way the name is Trev not Andrew.

V2 is the one for me, Helen, with the jagged wood in the frame.
Questions:
1. Why does this mirror distort everything?
2. Can you get it off the wall?????

The mirror is not made of glass Pamela. It is a silver plastic strip. and because of that it does not give a true reflection at any point.
