Mum's Embroidery -2

By helenlinda
Thank you so much for the response to Mum's Embroidery yesterday, and especially to Kate for her User Award.
I'm sure Mum would have been thrilled at the response to her work.

I am uploading a second in this series, and will then probably take a break for a few days.
One of Mum's skills was to be able to incorporate stitches on to a backing that then stood out from the picture. You can see this in the smaller picture where the flowers extend over its frame. I felt that the tones of these two worked well together.
Thanks for looking

You captured them expertly, as I know from experience embroidery images are very hard to capture well

Three-dimensional embroidery is amazing, she was a clever lady.
I can see a relationship between this work and your photographic art. Attention to detail, and an eye for composition.

Gobsmackingly brilliant work.
Exquisite - she must have won many awards for her work.
Did she belong to an Embroiders Guild?

I think at one time she may have done Kate, I'm not sure, but she certainly went to many classes over the years.

I like them a lot, especially the golden trees, the other one is too small to detect the workmanship. Nicely combined and as you say they go well together.
