Shapes and Shadows

By helenlinda
Kings Heath Park gardens are only open once a month on a Sunday afternoon. At when I went to look around for the first time this year in March, the sun was brilliant. So there were plenty of shadows. There is a whole "garden" devoted to geometric shapes and this is where I took these shots. I love the colour of these shapes, but the mono helps the shadows to really stand out.
Thanks for looking

V1 is good, I reckon V3 is even better!
I've heard of this place, I could have fun here, it's the mix of clean lines and unruly vegetation.

It's odd, but I like the coloured ones better. Great light, shapes and shadows, Helen.

I like the colour ones, too, Helen, but agree that the mono makes the shadows stand out so much better. Carol

Lovely shapes and shadows, the mono versions being so dramatic.

It is a close call between versions 1 & 2 for me but as a confirmed colour junkie it has to be V2 - very well observed and captured.

It is interesting to see which image people prefer.
For me it's v2 for the warmth of the color.

There is better definition in V1 than the colour version.
There is better definition in V4 than the mono version which has blown out detail.Smile

Looks very Barbara Hepworth-ish, and like something I'd find here in the Yorkshire Sculpture Park Smile A fine set, Helen, like both colour and mono versions, but think colour just wins it for me Wink
