Team work

By helenlinda
Thanks for clicks and comments yesterday for the first short sequence of photos. Today's is probably going to be the longest sequence as I want to show the movement of one cabin from beginning to end.
Other than v2 I took these all from upstairs in the ICT suite sitting on the desk with a very small area of view through the open window, but it gives a completely different perspective on things to be looking down on the activity instead of upwards.
Its hard to find a lead shot that stands out, but I think the strength of the crane is a good one because that is key to the whole operation
V2 The team link the hooks on the the cabin on the lorry just outside the school gates
v3 and v4 the cabin is swung over into the playground
V5 The team get ready to position the cabin- the man on the left has held the rope to guide the cabin from the beginning of its movement
v6 The man appears to be holding the cabin, but the shadow shows differently WinkWinkWink
v7 and v8 show the time-consuming and complex activity of positioning the cabin exactly right
v9 My window of opportunity
v10 the hooks are released from the cabin once it is finally in place
Hope you enjoy this sequence Smile
Helen

Monsters invading a tiny space - V2 is particularly effective visually. But as a series these do convey the great care and precision that this job needs.

I can not believe the amount of trust given to the ropes/chains, a great story unfolding in this series. - gary

Yes, a good set of documentary images, Helen - good viewpoint, too, rather than looking upwards Wink

I've voted Helen but I'll come back to comment more as the versions aren't appearing for me. We have very slow Broadband where i live and I think this causes problems with viewing the different versions. Back later...

Great reportage Helen, I'm in the process of doing something similar but with a new house build next door,

It's an excellent sequence Helen (I see Dave has been having the same problem as me) - but I've managed to get them all now! Team work is definitely the right title for this set. The minute I started to look at these, I started humming 'Right Said Fred'! Now I'll be humming all day.. Smile

Right said Fred, both of us together, one each end and steady as we go
Tried to to shift it, couldn't even lift it, we was getting nowhere
And so, we, had a cup of tea

Right said Fred, give a shout to Charlie, up comes Charlie from the floor below
After straining, heaving and complaining, we was getting nowhere
And so, we, had a cup of tea

Charlie had a think and he thought we ought, to take off all the handles
And the things that hold the candles, but it did no good, well I never thought it would

.... (I've spared you the rest of it) Smile

Great bit of photojournalism. I particularly like your vantage point in V5 through v10 but all the shots are nicely done.

Way-hey!! What a fantastic sequence, Helen, and I love the stark shadows in Vs 6 and 8 GrinGrin

Gosh...aren't these cranes AWESOME? Look at it in V1!

I have to say, though, that V3 is the coolest shot ever.

Thanks for these Smile
