The shoe

By helenlinda
A change from digitally manipulated images for the next few uploads.

All taken in the playground in very bright mid-day sun. So very strong shadows.

All I have done to this is increase the contrast and remove a few white marks on the shadow and black marks out of it.
v2 is following Pamelajean's suggestion and I also cloned out the yellow playground marking as it seemed to need it as it seemed somewhat out on a limb.

Have a good weekend
Helen

I think the composition works well and gives the shoe the importance it deserves!

Lovely composition, Helen. And I believe the only colour image I have seen that could be converted to mono by cloning!

It's the angle and the significant gap between foot and shadow that make this work. Classic 'well seen' shot.

Strong shadows and a little skip from the child, charming. Have you thought about cropping the right, Helen?

Two very fine images but the cropping makes No. 2 much the stronger. Great observation.

Great capture, Helen. I like the splash of yellow in V1, so must be the only one to go for V1!

Good for you Trev- I still like it better, as to me the shoe is too central in v2

I think V2 works best. I love the splash of colour in 1 but the heavy shadow on the right is unbalancing the shot.
This would do really well in a photo club comp. Judges love this sort of thing!
