Handle with care

By helenlinda
Born yesterday in school. We had 10 eggs and each produced a chick on 29th Feb - I wonder if they will survive 4 years until their next birthday.
An amazing experience for the children to watch them hatch.
I don't work on Wednesdays, but went up in the afternoon for a meeting and at that point there was just one egg left - I waited until 5.50 for that to finally crack and risked being locked in for the night as 5.45 is lock-up time
More pictures to come- but a pretty one to start with

Its also St David's Day today, so special birthday wishes to my own Dave over in Florida - no daffodil this year, but at least the chick is yellow WinkWinkWinkWink

Enjoy your leeks if you are Welsh SmileSmileSmile

Thanks for looking

Helen

What a wonderful image, Helen, and a great experience for the school children, too, watching the eggs hatch. I bet a few of the kids won't be so keen on eating egg now Smile Carol

Precious image. Reminds me of my childhood, and chicks being born - we had a rooster, and grandmother would leave some of the eggs to hatch.
First time I held one of these chicks I was so disappointed they were not velvety soft!
