  • Hi folks,

Just changed my printer from an Epson r285 to a Canon iP4600, only problem is I'm not 100% happy with the colours, the Canon seems to be leaving a pink tinge to some of my prints, I have gone through the profiles which has helped a little but still not quite there. Anybody else had trouble with the initial set up for the iP4600 and how did you get around it?

I've tried the other threads on the forum but with no joy.

    Thanks,

    Hells.

It may be the 8 ish vodkas that i have had Wink but my mind is working overtime and i have no idea who that is....it wil bug me within an inch of my life if i dont work this out.... Wink
  • It breaks my heart that there are all these dogs waiting for homes in pounds and rescues, i can't have anymore yet, which is why i try and raise money for them instead, need to win the lottery so i can rescue them all....i must admit i prefer animals to alot of people!
  • I have a one too, fabulous for carrying around and weighs less than some lenses Wink

    Godsend they are.....
  • I sell books for HOPE RESCUE, they have a website and deal with dogs that the pound cant take in or that are on the verge of being put to sleep due to over crowding.....worth a look, they do a wonderful job and have all sorts of breeds....
  • All my dogs snore like pigs.....and moult even though they have short hair...

I have had and know many breeds over the years from your normal to your not so normal, they all have their own personalities, my three staffies are all different, completely different! and they have been bought up exactly the same....
The breed profiles on the internet are great for a background on the breeds and how much attention/training etc each needs.....

I bred my staffie and never could i imagine giving any to a pound if they didnt sell, i kept a bitch that was deaf because i couldnt see her go to anyone just incase they couldnt cope with it down the line, even though i had never had a deaf dog before.....
She is a star and an angel, more work and patience needed than the other 3 but how people put these in sacks and throw them in the river is beyond me....
  • The incredible hulk
  • Tried both sides and finally found one at 20 upwards, the rest either empty or 1 pic.......
  • I see you didnt start the thread for that, its just me explaining why i say what i say as comments, i dont feel ready to give anything more yet...

I have posted something in the critique gallery, i enjoyed the response as it was more detailed comments, will have to do it more as votes are nice, but its the comments that mean the most to me,...
  • I often say lovely image if i think it is and people have already said that the dof was right and the lighting is spot on etc etc, sometimes i will just click, but other times i want to comment if it has grabbed me that little bit more....if i think its superb ill say it is..i am quite glad i have wide ranging tastes i appreciate a good sunset as much as a down and dirty gritty black and white city scene, but one thing does confuse me.....what is the difference between black and white and Mono??
  • This is the first time i have commented on a critique thread, this is really calm, there have been some that i have thought ooooo...i aint sticking my two pennies worth in there!! lol...
  • I have learned so much on here, but must admit it has been through a pm explaining i have missed something on an image and then an explanation on how i can rectify that...i think i have been guilty of putting an image up and not explaining what i wanted from the image, if its dark it means i like it like that but if i dont say people wont know and they will say...it could be lighter etc etc, a more detailed explanation of what was intended would certainly help me, and with details of how it was achevied?? I soak up this kind of info and go try it out for myself...so its a teaching tool for me too....
  • However......my other half has commented on an image that was out of focus, and they said it was meant to be like that, i even thought the image wasnt quite right, but got put off from saying anything also, because there are people with many years of epz membership saying it is a good image, me with not even a years photography under my belt think, oh?? well i better keep my thoughts to myself as i may be wrong...

    Thats what puts me off....
  • I haven't been taking photos for long so i can only say fab shot etc as i havent got the technical no how to say anything else, but i still want to comment and so i do....if you do comment and give critique on a piece, if it has been mine and i consider it helpful i would either mark as helpful or mention it in the comments.

if i wanted serious critique i would upload into the critique section, then they cant vote, only comment.

I don't think anyone would ever say to anyone that an image isn't good as if they have uploaded it, to me they must think it is good, or it must have some emotional content to them i have uploaded images that are right off the mark but at the time i was pleased with them, and i appreciate every comment i get it has spurred me on to try and be better....

Saying that, i do know that some of my images get more votes than say an outstanding piece 100 times better than mine, that doesnt even get an RC, but then i spend alot of time on here not just click for clicking but i have the time to go looking at pf's and galleries...

I welcome comments good and bad, i wont learn any other way..

  • I have issues with my printer, and photobox, we even had the spyder do the calibration and i still have to up the brightness for printing by 15-30 points...

In Novemeber i used Photobox for cards and noticed that there was a greyish cast and they were darker, so for the next batch i lightened them up and although better still that greyish cast, i haven't tried them since..and i haven't tried them for printing other than cards.

My printer (epson r285) also prints slightly dark, i have calibrated my monitor and it but that didnt help the printing issues, still had to tinker with the brightness.
When uploaded to epz, i have the opposite problem, everything is too much lighter than ps, so i really don't know why or what for, i just have to have different versions for web and printing.....i too hope to get an answer lol.....
