Dung Beetle

By Hermanus
Another wild life image from iSimangaliso Wetland Park for Silly Sunday Smile The Dung Beetle makes a ball of dung and rolls it to a secure spot where they lay their eggs in it. When the offspring hatch they feed on the delicious dung . All the time I took these photos mrs dungbeetle was flying around making sure all is OK Smile
We will be on the road again for most of the day.
Thanx for the votes and comments on the Wilderbeest and a special thanx to Graham for his treasured UA_ much appreciated !!
Have a fabulous day !

It's basic house cleaning!!!! Nice write up Herman, I have to say beetles dung or otherwise, are not my favourite, they come under the creepy crawly category. However, both images are well taken as per your usual standard.

Very special babies indeed where all the poo is OUTSIDE their nappies.

Fantastic close-ups of the rolling action, Herman.

I bet Indiana Jones would not want THAT giant ball chasing him!
