We have these in our Spanish garden Herman, an experiment by Willie, one of the gardener's lads, successfully transplanted into the herb garden and thriving next to the herbs and the strawberries. It is a delightful plant with the fascinating fruits that you have so beautifully portrayed here.

It's sharp, but then again gooseberries are Grin I wouldn't have recognised it as a gooseberry, hope yours are sweeter than ours, they look much bigger. The last time I had gooseberries I made wine from them and very nice it was too as I recall.

Great close up and as usual, well presented.

Isn't that what they calle here a physalis? Cape gooseberry? Inside is a lovely round berry. Delicious. We have one here and I look forward to them every year. Wink Of course I may be wrong.

Do they taste as good as the gooseberries over here? My grandmother had a lovely little bush of them, but it is lost to posterity I'm afraid.
