The moment you have captured is lovely but the birds are dark and lacking detail.

I wondered if this could be rectified with some post processing so I tried it and it can. If you want to see my version and how I did it, message me and I will get the image and the info to you. This capture makes it worth it.

It's a delightful shot, but underexposed on the birds as Lynne says. This is because you were photographing into bright sky, and the background light tricks the camera into underexposing on the actual subject. Best to get the exposure right in the first place rather than rely on post-processing for that - check out your Exposure Compensation control. A setting of +1 stop would have helped here.
