I am always intrigued by the stamen of a Hibiscus.
V2 - Fiscal birds usually catch insects and impale them on a thorn of our thorn tree - this one must have thought the olive also needed some maturing Smile
Thanx for your kindness by voting and having nice comments on my not so focussed image yesterday Smile
Have a great day and weekend Smile

Good morning Herman; I think I am up before the birds this morning [I'll regret it later] the sun is shining and the day looks promising.

V1 is a good crop, offering great detail and I have to say, I thought V2 was a prune, but what do I know [don't eat fruit it's a yuk to me] then I realised punes start life as plumbs; interesting life cycle, if a little gruesome, but as always immortalised by yourself so well.

The first shot is a beauty Herman, lovely colours and pin sharp.

The second is also excellent but so intriguing, I've never seen anything like that from birds before, marvelous.

You and your Canon PowerShot have captured such excellent detail in V 1: a very fine macro shot of the stamen.
And V 2 evidence of such strange behaviour ..... have never heard of such before.
