A great macro image of this Shield bug. I've heard you have big bugs in South Africa. Fortunately the winters here are too cold and the summers too short for these critters to get very big here.

Saw a green and orange one on a black pipe railing two days ago. Yours may be dark but he has a detailed design and you present him with plenty of colour. Looks super! TG

Good photo indeed. Unusual colour for a shield bug, Herman. Our wisteria has got a spattering of unseasonal flowers as well. I counted about 10 or 12 florets, but they are about half the size of the normal ones. Must be the unseasonal rain, and varying temperature. (We had about 10 mm of rainfall yesterday). Regards Martin
