Would like to know if this image creates a sense of depth of field. Any advice would be appreciated.

I think there is a sense of DOF enhanced by the inclusion of the cars which also help one to appreciate scale. Had you included some near f/g object like a builder, large tuft of grass, etc. it might have added to depth, but it may be that nothing was immediately available. The alternative would have been to approach nearer to the boulders that are featured and allowed them more prominence.
It's always easy to sit back at home and review an image than it is to find the ideal at the time, but when considering what the final result should convey, scouting around the locale before pressing the shutter is always time well spent.

PS.. Have a look at 'scippy's image posted today and you'll see what I was trying in my long winded to get at, Hilda.

Ronnie thanks for your advice. I had a look at the image you referred and I can see you point. It is amazing how hard it can be to find some foreground objects.
