This is a ....

Species Scathophaga stercoraria - Golden Dung Fly......resting in the last rays of warmth from the sun last evening, it was very dozy, so I was able to get to within closest focus distance.

Taken using the DIY Cereal Box flash reflector/diffuser described and sketched in the appropriate forum just recently ( take a look if interested)

These ugly/powerful flies are really that yellow, look them up and you will see what I mean.

Taken hand-held in Auto-Focus mode, my SONY A55 is very fast and accurate, so no real need to sway back and forth in manual long as you press the shutter as soon as focus is confirmed.
