The thing

This sequence was inspired by one of my favorite photographers Duane Michals.
I think that it can be interpreted in many ways, something that comes to mind for me is depression taking over.

I think this works, albeit the smiling face of the model appears to be recognisable in some of the shots - I wonder if this contradicts the brief you describe?

I love this idea but she looks too happy to be depressed. The bottom three shots look a bit too similar so perhaps some work on tonal separation might distinguish them apart a bit more. I do like the optical illusion we get with the black blobs on the white frames.

Hmm yes I agree with you both, but depression is sometimes hidden behind a smile, so you could be completely unaware of it in a person.
And yes I see what you mean, when I took these photos I was experimenting and didn't intend to make a series until after so if I were to plan in advance next time I will take your advice into account, thank-you both for your comments Smile
