I love this idea but she looks too happy to be depressed. The bottom three shots look a bit too similar so perhaps some work on tonal separation might distinguish them apart a bit more. I do like the optical illusion we get with the black blobs on the white frames.
Hmm yes I agree with you both, but depression is sometimes hidden behind a smile, so you could be completely unaware of it in a person.
And yes I see what you mean, when I took these photos I was experimenting and didn't intend to make a series until after so if I were to plan in advance next time I will take your advice into account, thank-you both for your comments
