Tre Cime di Lavaredo, Italian Dolomites

By hrsimages
This is a stitched panorama shot from 3 images taken during a hike on skis last week up to the Drei Zinnen hut to get a view of the Tre Cime di Lavaredo (3 pinnacles of Lavaredo), which are famous for their challenging rock climbing on up to 600m high vertical limestone walls.
The viewpoint is reached after a 950m climb from the Fischlein valley to the east taking about 3 hours. The route is not technically difficult and many people hike up on snowshoes or on touring skis during the winter.
Arriving around mid-day, and having to shoot towards the sun was probably not the best treatment for this scene but it was not an option to hang around and I think the final result was not too bad.

Amazing shot or rather shots! I particularly like the way the line of the tracks follows the line of the mountains. More please! Peter
