I don't know either but, in the process of what turned out to be a marathon to burying my brother at home, the act of renewing my membership should have been simple But in spite of the fact, I am trying to renew at exactly the same point I joined, ESP no longer allows for us to renew.

I see it as an omen of new life springing from the old dead wood. A metaphor for your situation Dora, they've chopped you down but you are arising Phoenix like from the embers! Too much...thought so! 
Photo critique, square crop and the focus will be on that Grinch like tree face with a Christmas festive, green crown sprouting out!
By the way I totally admire your stand and I would email and ask for an explanation. There will be one to do with charges etc on cards from certain countries. In the mean time we shall form the, 'Free the Costa Rican One Campaign'.

We have explained at long length why we only accept PayPal now and I can see from the internal reports that we’ve tried our best to help you.
I’m very sorry for your personal circumstances with your brother.
That aside, if you simply opened a free account with PayPal you could easily renew. Or pay someone back who does have PayPal. Or pay using online banking.
Please don’t air your frustrations on the site - please continue using the internal report system where your complaint will continue to be handled.

I have to either pay through my own Pay Pal account (don't have one; don't want one) - can't use theirs; or send a bank draft at a cost of an additional $40. Or go begging to other members to pay for me. EPZ apparently changed its method of payment and now some countries (which means some members) are excluded.

I spent 3 days communicating with EPZ and there is nothing they are prepared to do about the flaw.
Dora, you are just ignoring my comment so I will delete any further posts where you are incorrectly stating the situation.
Refer back to the report if you have any further comment, otherwise I will have to disable comments on this or delete the photo.
We have given you 3 ways to pay but you have said no to all of them.
Had you not been so harsh to a member of my team, I would have actually just given you membership in this circumstance as we value your contribution.

I really feel for you Dora. After all the the hassle you have had trying to bury your brother from Costa Rica it’s understandable you feel frustrated not being able to renew your subscription as you normally do.
I hope the new life on the tree is a symbol of getting your membership renewed.

You are not privy to the communications we have had via the reports system, where we have tried our hardest to help, and of course have been sympathetic to Dora’s situation.
Hence my post.
Taken out of context, that’s why you think it sounds ‘heavy handed’.
