That's Molly. She was the older dog and she let the younger Champ do the begging for both of them.

This is such a lovely picture.
Champ reminds me so much of my last and final dog Dora.
Broke my heart when I had to have him put down. I will never go through that again !

Any of us who have had dogs, know that pain. But it may be worse the other way around - when the dog survives the master. The painting "The old Shepherd's Chief Mourner -

- is heartbreaking . And we have multiple stories of dogs that cannot accept the death of their masters - Grey Friars Bobby, being one.
I have often thought when I finish up travelling I will have another dog. But I have no intentions of doing that until I have one foot in the grave so would that be fair to the dog.
