Lake Bohinj in Slovenia – Great photography locati

Lake Bohinj in Northern Slovenia is a fantastic location for Landscape photography anytime of the year. It’s a glacial lake and lies about one and a half hours from the Ljubljana Airport in a dead end valley surrounded by beautiful alpine mountains. There are regular flights from London with either Easyjet or Wizzair to Ljubljana. There is plenty of parking in the town of Ribcev Laz with easy access to the lake. You can also drive around it and park in many locations nearby for great viewpoints.

This lake never fails to provide great photographic opportunities no matter the time of year or the weather, as you can see by the photos below.

Mount Pec is also a good point to hike up and get views from above. And if you don’t feel like hiking you can take the cable car up to the Vogel ski centre and hiking area for a great view down into the valley and across to Mount Triglav, the highest peak in the Julian Alps. There are also two great waterfalls nearby.
