testa della benzina

For all the petrol heads

This wont get much love as its a car in mono, but i like it and i guess thats what photography is all about.

think mono suits the period of the car.

thanks for looking, comment welcome

Excellent Ian. The large version is a 'must' to get the full tonal range.

Hi Iain
I really liked your first car shot.
But in my view the last 2 have been let down by composition. The previous one had too much cockpit in shadow with not much to look at .
This one again has a lot of 'dead space'
I'm not sure what the focus of attention is.
If its the wheel or dashboard, my feeling is that this would have been a stronger shot, if you had got in much closer, let us see the detail, without the dark cockpit, or the 'edges' of the car. All imho Smile

the intention was to make the wheel and dash the point of interest.

thanks for the comments.

All racing Ferraris of this era should be either Ferrari Red or mono - This fulfils requirements. It also makes me want to get behind the wheel!

??? Disagree entirely. That 'dead space' encompasses details about the whole cockpit of the marque - which, for me, is what this style of vehicle photography is all about - Reliving memories of a bygone time.

But - as our French cousins have it - 'Vive la difference' Wink

Perhaps 'dead space' was a bit harsh, maybe dark areas with little interst would have been better.
Last two with ' areas of little interest' epz score 7 and 6 , previous shot with detail everywhere 19.
I rest my case.... Smile

I like the B&W treatment here, maybe a closer crop may have focussed it a tad more, but all said it is still a great, tasteful shot and in this way represenative of that era.

Have to agree with Mike on this one... a good image and the mono suits it very well. Smile
