Sorry I am no longer uploading to EPZ. I would like to thank those who genuinely followed my work, but I no longer feel the enthusiasm for EPZ as I once did and therefore have taken the decision to leave the community. I am not sure whether this will be permanent, it seems that way at the moment, but I will not delete my portfolio incase you wish to contact me or to see my latest work visit my WEBSITE or FLICKR .

Many thanks,

Ian

Nicely done, I think the colour in the cloud makes this image Wink

Nice colour in the sky Smile Just an opinion Phil, I hope you don't mind, but it would have been nice to have seen more of the sweeping bend in the west pier at the expense of the detached east pier.

    Well captured,
    Ian.

Nice image, love it's simplicity. I definitely chose the wrong day of the weekend to do a sunrise, went to Sandsend yesterday.

  • East Pier. Whitby

I haven't actually looked at it in B+W, my only reason being that I quite like the rusty colour of the bollard and at the time I had seen very little colour in my images due to the weather Wink Certainly will be worth a look, watch this space Smile

Thanks everyone, really appreciate you taking the time to comment Smile

Thanks Phil, I don't take it personally but you're right votes aren't important. To me voting is just a popularity contest and aren't always a true reflection of someones work. I much prefer comments even critique as it is the only way we learn. It's probably why I prefer Flickr Wink

Thanks Alun your comment is really appreciated and I will take it on board for the next time I visit. I looked at rotating it slightly but would lose that gap between the edge of the frame and the boats on either side. Next time I think I will shoot a little wider to allow for any such rotation/cropping.

Quite often the best light comes with a change in the weather system. Glad you persevered through the rain to grab this, lovely colour.

This has an almost oil painting like quality about it. Beautifully done.

A great portrait, I don't normally check out portraits but this just popped out on the thumbnails. V1 stands out from the rest, very well processed.

Thanks Phil. I was out extra early as I wanted to investigate a few different positions before settling on this one (well spotted). Will return hopefully to a sky with a few clouds about Wink

  • Skybound

I like it Mark, nice subtle colour in the sky, reflection and good detail from the fg to take you through the image. I have to say I quite like how the lighthouse connects to the sand as it flows nicely from the sand to the focal point. Well done,

    Ian.

  • Clash of the Elements

This is beautiful. You may not have got the perfect colourful sunrise, but you captured something else here, wonderful light which often comes on the back of bad weather. Well done for braving the elements Wink.

A refreshing perspective of the boat sheds, nice not seeing the castle in the image it simplifies the composition. I particularly like how the flowers & grass grow around the sheds.
