Cuban Cigar

By iancrowson
Cuba again. For one tourist peso, about 70p, you get a willing model. This man was very agreeable, friendly and let me shoot for a few minutes from various angles. He even moved out of the direct sun for me.
One CUC (tourist peso) amounts to about two days government pay in local Cuban currency. It seems that all workers, doctor or lorry drivers get about the same pay, the equivalent of about US $15 a month.
They seem a very happy bunch and get excellent health care and education.
Thanks for looking

What an obliging model! I think it would have been great if he had lit the cigar, but it's a super portrait as it is.
You might want to put a "b" in your title, Ian.

Hi Ian, If it was not from you, that I had seen this man before, I must tell you, he is very often photographed and despite smoking(?) a cigar as big as a limousine, he still refuses to die. Venceremos.

Fanatastic advert for Cuban Cigars, but perhaps not PC for us in the UK? It's interesting on the pay structure, models are really cheap then! The Guy and the BG work really great in this Image. Well done, I bet you had a great experience in Cuba Ian. I'm jealous! James Wink
