love this camera and not even used it yet, Mine is on order and cannot wait.
I see many benefits for me as a landscape and wedding photographer, the ef lenses i have are amazing and will go well with this body, I understand that the ef lenses work flawlessly with the adapter rings also loving the filter ring, right up my street for filming and landscapes, loving the focus points of which there are over 5ks worth.
loving the fully rotating screen, for me low angle shots will not be an issue anymore, loving the touch screen, loving the auto focusing in video, loving the size and ergonomics of this camera, loving the eye focusing and apparently there will be a firmware upgrade from Canon sorting a couple of issues I am sure.
so not much not to love really, the 30 megapixels is plenty for me as well, I own the Canon 5Ds and 5D mkiii with many lovely L lenses so this camera will be in my bag and I can see me using it a lot if not all the time, with weddings still booked for this year I am really excited to have this camera in my hands.

Best thing to do if you want to test is go to wex physically take a few images and put them on there computer then scroll in to 100% and see for your self.

  • Posted on: Samsung NX1 Sample Photos

Good to see you guys trying, but on a computer screen and without being able to scroll into 100% or so to see the effects of grain is pointless.
I would not buy a camera looking at these results they mean nothing on my 22" screen

  • Posted on: Fotodiox Launch Tough E-Mount

It's a cheap part what ever way you look at it and is not fit for a long heavy lens, it is a fact Metal is stronger than a plastic mount and does not wear as much.
I would not fancy putting a 5k long lens on a cheap plastic mount thank you.

This will no doubt be the ultimate wild/ sport camera out there right now then?
A bit worrying for the 1dx, have Canon shot themselves in the foot with this new 7D will the amazing 1DX be worth buying now?
Saying all that though the 1DX is full frame and the end resulting images are stunning with very little processing needing doing to the images.

A bit late, I sold mine and moved over to the canon lights and trigger, much better results all round in my opinion. Pocket wizard dragged there heals on this update for well over 2 years, and for people relying on them for weddings and such like to make it a bit easier I for one was very disappointed at the lack of response.

  • Posted on: What Lens Is Best For Travel Photography?

I tend to go on Holiday with a 24-70mm f2.8 and an 85mm f1.8 and that does me proud, on skiing trips and summer holidays too, unless it is a safari then I would be using a 70-200mm f2.8 with a 2x extender giving a reach of 400mm at f5.6 and as it's a safari 9 times out of 10 the light will be good enough to get an aperture of 8-9
giving good sharp images, especially if using the canon 70-200mm f2.8 l is usm mkii and the canon 2x extender mkiii, a superb combo that works incredibly well together.

Still not as good as the Canon 1DX with 12-14 fps and 18-MP plus the awesome 61 point focusing system, plus canon has the gapless sensor which makes full use of IQ. And cost more than the 1DX.

    Shall i go on TongueTongueTongue.

So when are they bringing out a remote Tripod so I can remotely move my camera to follow a subject and take the shot.
I imagine it won't be long if it is not already available, you would need one app to move your camera and take the shot I would have thought.
And then how much would it cost, would the option be to add this mechanism to your tripod like a tripod head.

Just a thought for the Tripod developers.

I wonder if he meant 1/15th of a second for the Bird to explode from the water not his shutter speed, clearly it would be impossible to get this image at a shutter speed of 1/15th.
This is how I read it anyway.

Great shot and very difficult to achieve, a worthy winner in my eyes.

There is one issue however, Lightroom 4 does not recognise the file type of the Raw images so therefore I cannot use Lightroom 4 for this camera, dam annoying, hope lightroom put up an update soon.

  • Posted on: Canon Unveil The EOS 70D DSLR

This camera is awesome, Just won this in the wildlife competition and I am loving it so far, as I learn more about it I am loving it more.
The swivel back screen is very good indeed and pretty fast when focusing, but what is really good is that you can touch the screen and take the photo all in one, Olympus PEN EP3 did this and claimed to be the fastest focusing camera in the World, well Canon have now kicked back with this little gem, it focuses and takes the shot in what feels like an instant, I really like this feature, it also act as a refocus point when in video mode too, so where ever you touch the screen it will focus on that point which is really good.
The build quality when handling this camera feels quality too.
I must say I am very impressed so far.
Personally speaking I think the 20.2 mega pixels is a great step forward in the APS-C sensor of this Camera, it's a long time coming and will boost the image quality compared to the dated 18 mega pixels in the 7D.
I always used my 5d mk iii over my 7D because i could crop the hell out of the 5D and still maintain IQ with very little deterioration of detail, But with the new 20.2 mega pixel and a focusing system equivalent to the 7D it has to be good,,, right.

Wow, There's hope for me then.
Talk about send out the wrong signals about photography.
What makes this the winning Image may I ask, there has to be an explanation as to why this wins surely?

My god I have photo's like this taken on an overcast rubbish day that I regard as rubbish and I bin them, clearly I am totally wrong in doing so and clearly they must be my best photo's.

Well that's me well and truely gob smacked TongueTongueTongue.

  • Posted on: Canon EOS M Now Available In UK

Apparently the focusing system is not too good on this camera, if your using it for street photography and want a quick shot, forget it.
As said canon are way too late to be giving us a mirror less camera and at that price i want a bit more than slow focusing thx.
I love Canon I have the canon 5d mark iii and the 7d but this camera is a joke in my honest opinion for the price, your better off with olympus pen ep3 with all its fantastic qualities it has as a compact mirror less camera.
Canon are starting to get complacent with it's customers. wake up canon before you start loosing your fans.

  • Posted on: Canon EOS 6D Digital SLR Hands-On

IMHO the 6D for what it has is not worth that money.
Personally i would rather save a little more and buy the superb 5d mark iii.
I must say though does any one have any idea why Canon all of a sudden think that the world is rich because everthing new that canon bring out or super seed is twice the price.
I looked at the canon 24-70mm l lens and nearly fell over with shock at what they want for it 2000 as apposed to the mark i at 1000, so why the huge increase in prices?
