Milky way over Happisburgh.

By ianrobinson
Milky way over Happisburgh.

A process of last nights 1am shoot at Happisburgh lighthouse to get this panoramic of the milky way.

I have had this project in my head for so long and needed the right conditions for it, knowing where the milky way would be at a specific time and of course as dark as possible so no Moon and late in the night.

This is Panoramic of the milky way is made up from 10 images stitched together and edited to bring out the details.

Taken with my Vlogging camera the Canon M6 mkII and the Sigma M mount 16mm f/1.4.

each image was manually focused at 16mm or the equivalent to 24mm on this 1.6 cropped sensored camera, shutter speed 30 seconds, aperture f/1.4, ISO 800.

for more info I will be doing a youtube video coming out shortly on how I did this shot and processed it.

An enchanting image! I really like the uncluttered composition. It gives full weight to the beautiful, luminous arc of the Milky Way above the lighthouse and its two pale beams.
