The Matterhorn

This was a trip of a lifetime for me, Switzerland, and after bad weather for 3 days and lots of finger crossing we decided to spend the 110.00 francs or £100.00 each to go on the train up to the Matterhorn, sounds expensive and yes it is but when you go to Switzerland you have to do these trips and put the expense at the back of your mind until you get home lol.
This shot was taken at 2800 metres above sea level after a hike down the mountain from 3100 metres, the top.
The flowers in the foreground are very unusual and I have never seen anything like it before, saying that I have never seen anything like the scene in front of me before.
If there were a heaven on earth this would be the place, I am not sure my images do this place justice but I have tried.
I was contemplating staying here for a sunset but the walk back down to camp would have been over 3 hours in the dark so that was not a possibility for us.
