Fabulous photograph, but I don't understand what is going on. All the smoke - presumeably from incense - so where does the hose come in...

Wow...really does look like a painting. Wonderful scene and have to admit hose indicates fire from too much incense!

the guy with the hose is the one who creates all the smoke, all the burning josticks are thrown into one small place in prayer and when the fire gets to be too much along comes the man or woman with the hose to put out the fire which results in a huge amount of smoke

Thanks for the explanation Ian. That sounds fraught with danger, but I've no doubt the system has worked for hundreds of years. I must say that the effect is very dramatic and you have captured it beautifully.
