My first reaction is that everything looks pretty close to perfect here.

Excellent focus on the eye. Great tonal range. A really appealing expression, with just the right tilt of hte head.

Possibly, the shot is slightly unbalanced, because Jasmin is looking right out of the frame, and not across it. However, changing this would make it a very different picture, and would need a secondary subject on the right.

I'm going to try a square crop, as that often adds to the sense of calm in a shot, and there's a deep calmness to this portrait.

However, I'm not convinced that it's an improvement, rather than just different!

Just the sort of shot that I suspect is far easier to take if you are really at one with the subject. Your love for each other shows.

the thing though is I like the shape of her ear and it to me, balancers the picture,but still a nice crop

Lovely dog, lovely shot, nice mono treatment.

Uploaded a mod, A4. a bit more space in front, contrast, and slight exposure increase in places.

Good performance from the lens and camera, - shows what a decent low-key exposure can do.

A little tight in the frame but you have captured a lovely soft expression on her face with a super catchlight in her eye.
