This hour of the day is every bit as annoying to be up and wide awake! A cuppa sounds a pretty good idea!! Love the way you've treated this excellent image. The details and action are beautifully captured.

Interesting processing on what I suspect was a pretty good original. For me, it's about the sheer misery in the horse's face. But then I'm not into racing.

lovely capture of those expressions, good prosess.
i had a cuppa at about 3am too this morning just wondering wether to go for a sunrise, but our area was coudy at 6am. so finally went back to sleep til ten. hope you catch a nap somtime.

I know exactly what you mean, it reminds me of a cartoon, and like those images you used to see of the dogs playing snooker in a funny sort of way.

I enjoy this Chris, have you used a find edges or similar, as there is a line drawing look to the image? It adds and extra 'gritty' feel, which with the mud works so well.

I used the posterise filter first then an old photo effect and left just a few of the torn edges in it, then adjusted the contrast.
