Don't talk to me about the flare Danny. You should have seen the state of my laminate flooring after my daughters pals first footed us with their high heels on !! I had to tell them to take them off. When they came in the door, they were all 6 feet tall. With their shoes off they went down to 4 feet !! All was forgiven however when they presented me with a botle of dark rum.Trouble was,I did not know they wanted it back for furthur visits.Otherwise I would not have finished it !!

A good lead in from the path, slightly distracting with the flare. But not that much

The flare is a minor distraction for me in an excellently composed shot with wonderful light.

Sometimes lensflare can really add to an image. Most of the time I find it a pain. Wide angle lenses catch so much light that it can bounce around in there and really ruin an image.

In this case I think it adds to the image. Nicely composed too Dan. Not so much a lead in, but a lead through.

Extremely happy to kiss this 30 my friend. Bonnie image from your wall. Against the light is very dramatic and shows the scene as walkers see it as they travel along through the snow.
Tremendous work Danny, dedication worth the reward.

I love flare, for me it's something unpredictable, free. But in compositional terms I'd prefer it to be less central, I think I'd try cropping a chunk from the right-hand side, to just inside the little tree, and a slice from the top to balance.

I think leave the flare, it's a fact of life and the splash of light adds a little extra something.

No great distraction, Danny, though I was rather expecting Robin Hood to materialise from the fireball!
For me this is a story about the line of the wall and the footpath, and about the shadows...........

Quote:Does it add or distract from the Image.

Certainly doesn't detract, Danny, and those footprints are a fabulous lead-in - but then that's what you wanted when you composed the shot! Smile

I would have liked it the flare wasn't just a dot here, but if you could see the rays projecting out from the flare. Other than that, a nice compo, and the long shadows coming towards the viewer are a treat.

The flare does spoit it a bit for me but it cannot always be helped can it.- Such a wonderful composition and such a lot to see in the capture. Wonderful capture of light and shade. Like it loads. Would rather see it with the flare than not see it at all.

This compo. is brilliant. You've certainly captured this one very well. Love the sense of depth and how your eye is lead into the landscape effortlessly. Think the flare is fine because its not so big as to be distracting and the sun is not 'burnt out'. No prob. Paul
