Young Siskin

By Ingleman
Trying to improve my bird photography, and looking for light to emphasize the colours, and allow narrow aperture for maximum sharpness. I prefer natural perches, but this one on a feeder was too good to miss. They like nijer seed & sunflower hearts. Tiny little bird but beautiful to watch. I sometimes get up to a dozen at a time and this is great to observe, especially when they bicker and fight for food.

That is such a lovely bird. So pretty. And yes I agree it is nice to get them on natural perches but this is such a good shot. Cathy

This deserves more notice. You are correct. Keeping the f/ between f/9 and f/16 will insure more sharpness more often. Now if only I could keep that in mind. TG
