  • john deer tractor

Just a point ... its not a John Deere ... Its a Ferguson TE20 (before the days of Massey Ferguson) - sorry I've got one!

  • Malta Bus

Thats a blast from the past! Used to get one of these from Floriana to Selina back in the 70's! Not sure the colour has changed since then! Always remember it was like getting into a shrine with pictures of Saints and rosary beads hanging from the mirror. Happy Days!

  • Vapourer Moth Caterpillar

To be honest I only snapped it for identification purposes and the only camera I had with me was attached to the mobile ... I was quite surprised (& chuffed) with the results! Mind - the mobile has a 5 megapixel camera on it whilst the Nikon D50 SLR I normally use is only 6.5 so not a great deal of difference!

    Thanks for you comments

  • 4 spotted chaser dragonfly

You may well be right re ID as my Boys Book of Knowledge only listed the 4 spotted one and it seemed to fit ... At least I got the Chaser bit right! The book did say that the Males were blue so figured it was female but wasn't sure.
    Thanks for you comments

Now Version 2 I like! Much more moody!

  • Breezy day on the moor

I like this although I would prefer it in B&W but then that's just me (see modification).

  • sitting alone

Can't make up my mind about this one. Pleasing shot right enough however it does look doctored ... Quite strong lighting on the model but no corresponding light on the flowers / grass which look quite dull. The light on the model is strong enough to create a shadow on her torso ... but no shadow of the model on the ground.
No need to state whether it was a PS montage but this really looks like two photo's stuck together.

  • brixton climber in barcelone

Reminds me of trying to get a shot of the guy on the bike with a skeleton in a sidecar attached! Not easy as he wanted Euro's everytime you lined up a shot.

I love these guys as they seem to spring into life when some unsuspecting tourist walks past!

  • Sinister

Must admit the first thing I thought when I looked at it was ... should have had a scythe ... but that being said a lovely atmospheric shot ... perhaps a little too light from the side to be called "sinister" but perhaps it would work in B & W???

Cracking capture! Love the fine detail of every individual feather.
    Good shot.

Quote:S'all right for some isn't it, One day I'll get out, until then I'll carry on dreaming, that and looking at the wonderful shots like this that grace EPZ.

Must admit it was a trip of a lifetime and something I never thought I'd ever do, but the chance came and it was an oportunity not to miss. Something just awsome watching these magnificent animals in the wild especially when they are literally only feet away and you are in an open topped Landy! Thanks for looking. Andy

  • ooops!

Quote:OOOPs indeed, did they get away OK in the end? Trish

Happened last summer in Perigold region in France and yes they got out and pushed it over the edge!

Very hot day and the water in the river was quite low! Silly thing was we went out in a canoe to paddle around the Island ... and did exactly the same thing! Hopefully no photographers to capture it like I did!

Quote:Excellent capture I hope he made a big noise too that really gets the adrenalin pumping do`sent it
    Mary

Quite surprising really as he just snapped his ears out which made quite a loud "crack" and the dust flew! But when you are less than 10 yards away from him in an open topped Land Rover its awe inspiring!

  • Glossy Starling

Just thought its colours are glorious! The irridescent greens / blue really shimmer in the sunlight. Quite a lot of them hanging about the open air eating areas looking for titbits etc ... only this one had it's eye on my full english!

  • Hello!

Quote:Very nice, but had you turned the camera around to vertical (portrait) format you could have got the legs and lower body in as well. Easy to be wise after the event!

    David

Take your point - however would have got the front of the Land Rover / Ranger and Tracker - also can't stand up otherwise could become dinner!!!! Smile

  • Looking for Lunch

Yes managed to get a couple of head shots - followed this one for about 2 hours through the bush - trying to get the ever ellusive "National Geographic" shot however ....

She'd just spotted a bush hare and was eyeing it up for an afternoon snack!"

  • What are the odds?

Great Capture. I went to Hawaii to see these wonderful animals but didn't get anything half as good as this! Well done.

  • Spreader bar in the bedroom

Really like this shot and the use of shadow I find makes the picture - simple yet highly erotic!
