Good fungi shot here Kate.
Have a guy at the club who places a mirror under his fungi and takes a pic of the reflection in it.
And very effective it is too !!
Worth a little try for you perhaps ?

This has good focus , another way to do this is to use a bean bag or something like ---- I have a beanbag with a tripod screw attached ( gift from a daughter) camera is somewhat protected and also steadied!

We had a fair crop on our lawn ( I use that term loosely, of course ) this year, Kate, and you have captured this pair on your's in fine detail.

Nicely photographed Kate. The mushrooms are well isolated and the colours and textures of the left one are really beautiful.

A superb Autumnal celebration of the joy of pairs.

Mick gives a very useful tip. Now all I have to do is carry my camera, lenses, flashes, tripod & monopod, black card and a mirror. Can I be like the Hindu goddess Kali and have ten hands please?

Trev has mention this above; An angle finder, which attaches to the eyepiece and allows you to look down from a higher pov than the eyepiece, rather than get lower and look through, would be an ideal accessory if you do a lot of these. There are lots of third party cheapies on ebay etc you could find, as the Canon originals are pricey.

Its a very nice shot, lovely shallow dof.
