The Bike Shed

By Irishkate
Something a little different tonight from Glen Etive Road - I loved this old shed and the bike.
My main reason for taking this was to convert to mono (always needing material for club),
so V2 is the mono. V3 is the arty one!
Let me have your verdict!!
Thanks for all your votes for Stag in Winter - didn't want to bore you with too many deer images
but the snow capped hills made it different from precious uploads.

A great shot to start with, Kate.
The b/w is a good version but I really like the 'arty' version 3 - it just works well!SmileSmileSmile

V2 is a nice strong mono and my preference. V3 would be excellent too, with a little end and bottom crop. Fine stuff!!! TG

An easy choice Kate. The shed lights up in monochrome and becomes the impact point. The other two shots it's the grass that takes the center stage. Without any doubt the mono..John

The contrasty scene works well for the arty effect, Kate. I'm not really a mono person but it does highlight the shed as mentioned above.

Excellent composition, Kate. I like the colours in V1, the textures in V2 but really I like V3 best. You have re-processed it very well and it suits this subject admirably and for me it works.
So well done you for trying something new and out of the ordinary. GrinGrinGrin

I think I like this one best in mono, when I first saw it I thought ah this would make a nice mono, then I noticed it hadn't escaped your attention when I saw version two.

A great subject, and you have done well with all 3. The first is great with the colours, the mono makes the shed stand out and the paint effect is stunningGrin

The conversion is good in v2 Kate but not sure that the subject is quite strong enough for a CC competition.

Three beautifully worked variants Kate, however for me I think that version 3 has got something to offer. The soft wet brush effect is very appealing.

All 3 have different virtues for me and all are excellent but v3 is unique and presents the shed in its best light... So v3 for me ... Great to be adventurous Kate, inspiration for us to step out of the box!

For the mono I would have preferred an orange filter...so the arty one is my favourite...certainly something else!
Lovely light on this old magic bike shed. Got to be V1.
Well done. WesternRed.
