Great picture , the diagonal adds to the impact . I would crop off the blue band at the bottom as it does not add anything .

Nice capture Chris, have you tried using second curtain flash to get the trails behind the rider? Might be worth a go.

only have one flash unit at the moment, but when i get a second one will give it a go

Sorry Chris, what I meant was to get the flash to fire at the end of the exposure rather than at the start, that way the speed trail will be behind and not in front, if you see what I mean. If you check the manual, you can set it up from the camera menu.

i did that after i looked, knew what the setting was but not what it was called (queue red face) but as i was taking 4 or 5 in onc succession it wasn't working in quite the same way some of the other shots i have do have the trails behind but it was a bit hit or miss as i was having to take some chance as they were so close and coming by so fast

I bet it is fast from that position close to the track, much faster than when you are above on the banking.

yeap, not sure how i ended up with as many shots as i did that i was happy with but the speed was awesome.
so exciting to see
