Superb composition, simple, uncluttered. So peaceful, I find myself staring at this and not wanting to move on.

A regal elegance that cannot be denied, classical composition which is simply a delight to view. I cannot offer any critical pearls of wisdom, they are all here on display. John Tindall.

Beautiful JP .. did you use a filter plus a polariser or just a filter .. or nothing at all?

Suzi, I used an 80a filter, usually used to expose daylight film under tungsten. It's a deep blue. Used just after sunset it gives this cool eerie look. This is actually one of New Zealand's busiest seaside resorts in Summer, but I took this at the end of winter when no one's around.

Beautiful composition. For me this photograph is so serene and tranquil well done. Have you considered sending it to the New Zealand tourist board for publication?

A wonderfully serene monotone. Full marks.

I agree with the idea of offering it to the Tourist Board - this is the sort of thing I look for in holiday brochures...

What a cracking shot. I feel it's a shame the cloud formation wasn't 'mirrored' on the right of the frame instead for a more balanced composition, but Nature is often out of the photographers control! Looks like a future competition winning shot to me.
