Putting some small bits together.

So this last 2 weeks has been about getting some time to do some more photography activity.

With the new giant flash bendable bounce card Paul Morgan suggested ( Rogue flash bender Large) and a eTTL trigger i've been playing quite a bit more of late - not lots of portfolio photos but still lots of photos.

The flash bounce card played a super part in this article i wrote
http://www.ephotozine.com/article/olympus-goes-to-glastonbury-exhibition--25980
And yesterday at a friends surprise anniversary party, the only time i did not use it was when i needed the extra range of the speetlite facing forwards, even if bounced of the ceiling. - What i can improve on is staying parallel to a group so that flash fall off is less of an issue.
Also i could work on the transition between the professional crowd control part of photography and the sniper fly on the wall parts. Its hard to be both at an event.

Some more time was spent looking at better processing in LR & PS is helping - silly things like pressing 'i' to pull up the shoot information or using the > or < start rating switch in LR to sort out and dump unrated shots i'll never use. Also started saving my own presets as i've a few hundred images to edit - its quicker to shoot than process. And a lot of the beauty is in the production - its taken me a while to recognise that whilst i like the recording aspect of photography I'm most impressed with the production of enthralling processed photos. I need to wake up and hone these skills to produce what i admire and stop wondering why my out of camera shots are not the same a those in a magazine.

Another area of interest, though un related to any short term change in my photography is the rumours solidifying around a 7Dmk2 with its new sensor tech.

So lets hope that i can learn the lessons of processing and deliver on my aspirations.

Kind regards
Stuart
