I seem to have got to a stage (or at least think I have) where producing super photos regularly is still a way off, BUT i seem able to critique some the technical aspects of my photos much better than before. I seem to be struggling to take the next step forward in my improvements and this is actually stopping me trying to take better photos - I was fooling myself that this gave me more time to think about how to improve. But now i recognise that you can't think for too long without some actions to support it.
So I'm trying harder again to take a few photos that can demonstrate improvements in photography and processing. I'm going to try and take just a few photos that count and not 100's that don't. Previously I'd become a mediocre photo machine to busy with pressing the shutter again to actually stop and consider what i was shooting and why.
I've still being doing a few events for epz articles and trying to shoot only shots that count. One of these I liked was of Charlie Waite as I felt I'd captured the some of the essence of his wonder with the world around him. though my composition might of been better.
I've still not the facilities to shoot as i ultimately want to, but waiting forever is not an acceptable position to me so i need to be creative elsewhere meanwhile. Part of this is processing and with a new book on lightroom from a good friend i hope to see some improvements.
Of future interest to me is the potential 7Dmk2 and if this has a fouveon style sensor - even more so; but of real interest is the chance to go Full frame and have much more shallow DOF opportunities with good glass - 6D style with 70-200 F2.8 and space to swing it.
Thanks for reading, all and any comments welcome.
