Heron at Muncaster castle

By jambutty53
Taken at Muncaster Castle
Everyday at 4pm -- 20+ Herons --[there was around 30 when i was there]-- arrive from the surrounding area to be fed by the staff of the on-site owl sanctuary by the side of the Castle. -- To see so many of these birds in the trees and in such a large numbers together must be an unusual sight.

A very appealing image. Lovely detail and sharp where it needs to be with that little bit of wing movement to add some action. I'd suggest cloning out the twigs peeking into the right of the frame as they are a little bit of a distraction and in a perfect world I'd like a bit more space at the top of the frame too. Some space to imagine the Heron flying into. Could be done in editing if the opportunity was missed in the moment.

Nonetheless this is lovely to see and quite rare that Herons are captured in flight - well I only ever seem to come across photographs of Herons feeding or stood in/by the water so it makes a pleasant change.
