Thank you for your comments and support on yesterday's upload. This is another detail of the same picture but showing the whole of the section representing Henry VIII confirming the rights and charters on the cathedral.
The text reads "..most sacred King, for God's sake confirm the Cathedral Church of Chichester as Caedwella, King of Sussex, confirmed the Church of Selsey, once a Cathedral." The king replies "..for the love of Jesus Christ, I grant what you ask."
The reference to Selsey is because the original Cathedral was there but was relocated to Chichester after William the Conqueror demanded that all Cathedrals that were not located in a centre of population should be moved to one.
I don't have the technology to straighten the verticles and horizontals so please imagine that they are straight. Again, colours are as near to original as I can get.
V2 is a lighter version of yesterdays.
