Hello eyeryone, thanks for all your continued support, comments and votes. It's much appreciated.

I've decided to go back to my first love and upload a picture taken in Chichester Cathedral. This time it is a detail of the restoration work in progress in the Lady Chapel. The work took about 3 years to complete and cost around 1 million. Major work was carried out on the roof. All the windows were taken out for cleaning and repair and the stonework of the tracery was cleaned, repaired or replaced as neccessary. The ceiling, walls, tombs and memorials were cleaned and repaired and paintwork redone where appropriate. All paid for by the fundraising of the cathedral trust.

It's amazing to think that such wonderful work can be achieved with such apparantly crued tools.

I hope you like it.

I wouldn't describe an Olympus C50-50Z as a crude tool...

I like this James - it's good that there are still people around that have the craftsmanship to keep our heritage/history alive and I admire them very much!

A splendid capture of the craftsman at work. The light is beautiful and brings out the fine detail in the marble.
