Through The Choir

By James_C
Hi All,

Thank you for all your comments and thoughts on my last upload. It is always appreciated.

Here's one for Sunday. This is another view of the High Alter at Peterborough Cathedral. This time taken through the choir. As with my last upload, which a number of you thought I should have cropped differently (Ive taken on board your comments and will post a revised version later), I wanted to try and give an impression of the sheer size of this magnificent building.

Thank you for looking. I hope you enjoy it.

All the best,

James

hi james you have certainly achieved your goal with the size.
I like the fact you have managed to get the light right with good colour as these places are challenging.

Church interiors are notoriously difficult to photograph and you have balanced the extremes of light and shadow very well here.

Stunning place captured beautifully. Like the inclusion of those figures adding to the sense of scale.

The Cathedral is a truly mangificent building James, as this shot of the high altar, nice to see the people [choir rehearsing?] which gives a better idea of scale.

Yes I think you have succeeded James and that slightly off centre lectern was a master stroke.

Many thanks to you all for your c+c. It is very much appreciated.
Jim (JimV) - yes it is the choir practicing. As it was half term, it was a visiting choir from St Luke’s Church, Chelsea. They were very good.

Alll the best,

James

You have done very well capturing the interior of the cathedral in the low light condition without burning out the highlights. Well done
