There are many different events that take place within Chichester Cathedral appart from the normal services. This album contains pictures taken at some of them.
I hope you enjoy looking at them and may even be inspired by some of them.

It is a mammouth task, which takes two years in planning, involves some 600 volunteers, 30,000 + stems of flowers, plus trees, shrubs and associated foliage, and countless props, many of which are made for the occassion. The patron this year is Peter Seabrook.

Seascapes, boats and things.
The theme for the 2008 festival was "Celebration and Rememberance". The theme was chosen to celebrate the 900th anniversary of the consecration of Chichester Cathedral and in Remeberance of Bishop George Bell, who was responsible for commisioning much of the modern art that is displayed in the cathedral. He was Dean of Canterbury Cathedral where he instigated the Canterbury Festival and commissioned "Murder in a Cathedral" by T.S.Elliott. He was appointed Bishop of Chichester in 1929.

The preparations for the next festival are well under way. Apart from the flowers - in the order of 40,000 - there will be a Festival Market, Cafe des Fleur, Plant Market, an exhibition by the world renowned sculptor Philip Jackson and live music both inside and outside the cathedral.
