Quote:Hello James Grant! Thank you for the photo of the standing stones. Fantastic is all I can say! I, myself, have never seen some in person and regretfully, probably never will, so, photographs like this one mean a lot to me. As the photograph goes, you nailed it1 Composition and execution are perfect to my eye. Simply, beautiful. JCA
Thank you! I hope one day you will see some, there are plenty in the UK if you ever come over!

Quote:WOW what an image, and what a lovely place, if I wanted to go, where is the best place to park?
Thanks Ray - Earl Sterndale. Easy to get to. Take the footpath at the side of the quiet woman pub and just follow it.

Quote:Just had a look at this on GE. Do you have to park at Wetton and walk if so where?
Just park in the village at the top of Leek Road. You can find more info in my eBook over at www.jamesgphotography.co.uk Smile

Quote:So, on my home turf eh! Excellent comp and a shame you didn't get the best light. Good reason for a revisit though. If you're in the area sometime let me know if you fancy a shoot and a pint up the road :0)

Will do Alun! My better halves auntie lives around the corner too, so thats why we were there. I'm sure we will be back!

Hi Alun, can you elaborate a little more? The image is almost untouched but could be the use of reverse grad?

  • Elgol

That was me Alun! What a small world! The last time I was at Elgol I met someone else there from the Peaks who I'd known on Flickr for ages but didn't find out it was him until after the event. Perhaps I should just accept if you go to Elgol you're going to meet someone there who's on a social sharing site!

Yeah I use a Nex at least 50% of the time now, I really like it and it serves me well and the UWA on it is better than the Tokina 11-16mm on my normal camera IMO.

    Nice to meet you!
