Quote:The big question in my mind is whether you posted in the Critique Gallery by accident... I don't think you've posted here before, and I can't see that any of the Team will have much to suggest!

Your portfolio is full of excellent landscapes. And this is no exception. Beautiful composition, the right settings, and the perfect moment. A model image.

And - for the sake of passers by - you obviously used a tripod, to allow a small aperture and low ISO...

I grew up in Leek, and I can vouch for the fact that weather like this is exceptional. So, the other vital thing... willing to sit and wait for the right moment.

Everybody else - this is how it's done!

Hey Dudler, Ive not been on here since 2013, started landscape photography in 2012 and love it. Its my first image in the Critique section, never used it before so thought id give it a spin Smile

I live in Stoke now, but was born in Leek and all my extended family are still in Leek and surrounding areas. The amount of times ive stood up here and The Roaches is daft, waiting for the right conditions...as you do!
Like yourself and any other locals I know how unpredictable the weather can be here and I think I just got lucky that morning, saying that though I stood up on that ridge for about an hour and a half waiting for the low cloud to lift.

I published a quick article today >> http://www.jamespictures.co.uk/2016/ramshaw-rocks-staffordshire/ nothing great im no good at writing Wink

Thanks for your kind comments, means a lot
