String & A Prayer

By jasonrwl
Thank you for all your C&C's on yesterdays Partridge - much appreciated as always.

Today a shot from the Manifold Valley in the Peak District taken on Sunday. Trying out my new 50mm f1.8 prime - trying it wide open for selective focus. This gate looked like it was held together with string and a prayer GrinGrinGrin

Thanks for looking
Jason

That string doesn't look like it'll keep much in or out!
Nice bit of selective focussing Jason.
Please tell us how you find the new lens and what you find it especially good for?

Looks like the bull wanted in or out--

The textures in the wood and grasses are excellent, bg is nicely blurred--- a good lens!

Very well observed and crafted image, Jason. The selective focus works very well here in my opinion, concentrating attention in the middle of the gate, enjoy your 50mm prime, should give some nice bokeh too.

Hope it's not there to keep something dangerous in, otherwise you'll be the one doing the praying!!!
